The Hard-Core Troubadours
From 1997-2002 there was a roots rockin’ DC area band called the Hard-Core Troubadours. We played a variety of roots rock, country swing, surf, cowpunk, texas blues, alt country, and rockabilly. There were reunions in 2006 and 2012. Recently we reunited to play for a friend’s memorial party. We all realized we missed playing those great songs together and have decided to fire it up again, plus add some new stuff. We recently played a sold out show at Hank Dietle’s Tavern with The Shambles and it went absolutely great! We’re eager to continue doing occasional shows.
The HCTs are:
Kevin Driscoll-vocals, guitar
Andy Rutherford-guitar, vocals
Louie Newmyer-bass, vocals
Jimi Lethbridge-drums
Ruthie & The Wranglers
Don't miss this incredible night of twang, honky tonk piano, originals and retro favorites with full on harmonies and rhythms that rock. The band features—Ruthie Logsdon, Andy Rutherford, Bill Starks, Arch Alcantara and Tom Fridrich! After 25 years of twang (including recording, touring and Americana/Roots radio airplay) the band remains a cornerstone of the DC roots music scene. From original Americana Country to a rousing Surf instrumental or whisky drenched ballad, their clever lyrics, high energy and heavenly harmonies, set them apart from the rest.
Their Americana/Country roots and their unstoppable ENERGY Ruthie describes as "Loretta Lynn meets the Ramones at Dick Dale party!"
They’ve released 7 albums including a compilation of some favorites from their legacy of recordings entitled All Wrangled Up. Their lyrics were called by Billboard “nothing short of brilliant” and The Washington Area Music Association (The WAMMIES) has declared them emeritus after more than 30 WAMMIE wins including, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Country/Duo Group.
