The first Saturday of each month Big Howdy hosts a showcase featuring a special guest!
This month features: Neel Brown and John Seebach
Neel Brown and John Seebach - Multi-instrumentalists Neel Brown and John Seebach have brought their brothers-from-another-mother vocal harmonies to DMV audiences for nearly 20 years, fronting the dive-bar caveman bluegrass band Only Lonesome, the modern string band Big Chimney, and their most recent electric honky-tonk project, the Feckless Country Band. For this show, they’ll be performing distilled versions of some of their favorite songs from each of these bands.
Big Howdy is a DC-based progressive bluegrass band featuring the duet singing of Dede Wyland and Randy Barrett. The group offers a mix of original songs plus reinterpretations of classic country, bluegrass and roots material. Dede is a nationally recognized vocalist while Randy is a well-established singer songwriter and banjoist. Together with Ira Gitlin on bass and Tom McLaughlin on mandolin, Big Howdy sounds unlike any other band. And that's the way they like it.
