Thomas Walsh

A sprightly veteran of the Irish music scene for over 25 years, Thomas Walsh – AKA Pugwash and Duckworth in The Duckworth Lewis Method with Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy) – has been charming fans worldwide since his 1999 debut album Almond Tea. Since then he’s released a dozen-plus records on labels including EMI, Omnivore and Andy Partridge’s APE, moved into writing for Disney, and kept his melodic pop prowess in full flight.

Walsh’s collaborators and admirers form a who’s-who of classic and power pop: Jeff Lynne, Ray Davies, Michael Penn, Matt Berry, Brian Wilson, Joe Elliott, Jason Falkner, Ben Folds, Nick Heyward and more. His 2023 solo album The Rest Is History features guest turns from Joe Elliott, Neil Hannon, Michael Penn and actor/musician Matt Berry, and showcases his knack for hook-laden, harmony-rich songs in the spirit of The Beatles, ELO, XTC and The Kinks – a cult hero finally getting his due.
