Originally from Washington, DC, started his professional music career in Los Angeles in 1983. While his Paisley Underground contemporaries were fusing pop with punk, Mark’s band was trying to recreate Cosmic Americana in the same town that had invented it 15 years earlier.
Unfortunately, it just wasn’t the right time. He returned to Washington, got a job, raised a family and let songwriting go for a couple of decades. After moving to Williamsburg, VA in 2011, his music started returning. Since then, Mark has released two LPs that have both debuted in the top 20 on the EuroAmericana chart and have skimmed the top 100 on the AMA. He has recently headlined at The Sandler Center (VA Beach), Union Stage and Jammin Java (Washington area), Tin Pan (Richmond, VA) and has opened for Karla Bonoff (Sellersville, PA and Annapolis, MD) and Lucy Kaplansky (Richmond, VA).
"Love & Fire is a masterpiece." ~ Tom Prasada-Rao
Annette's performances are marked by her compelling alto and moving songs that "touch you to the bone". In the tradition of the poet songwriter, with rich tones reminiscent of Linda Thompson or Natalie Merchant, she weaves a spell both startling in its intimacy and expansive in its vision.
In her late teens and twenties. Annette was performing in local cafes, small venues and eventually festivals. When her daughter was small, Annette took a break from performing to attend her family and grow her healing practice. Now she is out performing again and becoming known in the DC area and nationally as a powerful songwriter and performer. Annette's debut CD, Songs from the Talking House, was awarded Contemporary Folk Recording of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association in April 2016. Her January 2020 release, Love & Fire, is her first album on the Azalea City Cooperative label. On release, it landed at #6 on FAI Folk DJ chart and #1 on the NACC chart and ended up #40 for the year.
In 2019, Annette created a new concert series, Local Cream, to showcase the best local and regional songwriters.
Blend a powerful singer, crisp acoustic guitar player and a heartfelt observer of the world and you have singer-songwriter, Lynn Hollyfield. Her "indie-folk-pop style" (Leicasterbangs, UK) reflects an infusion of many influences including great jazz artists, such as Ella Fitzgerald, to contemporary influences of John Hiatt, Shawn Colvin and CSNY. The resulting blend~her own voice mingling wit, a silky sweetness and thoughtful reverie to her songwriting and performance. Hollyfield has two solo recordings, Layers (2010) and In the Balance (2014). Both recordings listed in the Top Albums of the year-Folk DJ Listserve and received numerous Washington Area Music Award nominations including Album, Songwriter and Artist of the Year. "Some artists are known for their voice or their delivery or maybe their songs or for their guitar playing. Lynn is not just 'some artist.' She delivers ALL of these with depth and clarity, one gorgeous song at a time." Ruthie Logsdon
David Potts-Dupre's songs are riveting stories of family, joy, loss and deep love delivered in a rich baritone. He has released three albums, all available on Spotify.
