After a nearly 10-year hiatus from writing and recording, acclaimed DC-based singer/songwriter Juliet Lloyd has returned full force with her new EP, High Road. Stylistically, the album shares some traits with Lloyd’s earlier, piano-driven pop—but this time tinged with a sweeter country edge. Two of the album's tracks earned Lloyd the grand prize in the 2022 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Competition, which recognizes the best songwriting talent in the DC area. Prior to this, Lloyd’s last full-length album, Leave the Light On, was released in 2007 and featured songs that can be heard on TV shows including “The Real World,” “The Hills” and “Tough Love,” in addition to being added into rotation at more than 175 radio stations across the country.

Annette Wasilik was born in Washington, DC. At fourteen, she found a broken Sears Silvertone guitar hidden behind old winter coats in a basement wardrobe. She glued the bridge back on and has been playing and writing ever since. In her late teens and twenties, Annette started performing in local cafes, small venues and eventually festivals. Later after her daughter was born, Annette took a break from performing to attend to her family and grow her healing practice. Now she is out performing again and becoming known in the DC area and nationally as a powerful songwriter and performer. Annette's debut CD, Songs from the Talking House, was awarded Contemporary Folk Recording of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association in April 2016. Her January 2020 release, Love & Fire, is her first album on the Azalea City Cooperative label. On release, it landed at #6 on FAI Folk DJ chart and #1 on the NACC chart and ended up #40 for the year. During the pandemic, she has been livestreaming and has hosted concerts on her front porch featuring some of the DC area’s finest songwriters and musicians. She is now curating and hosting Local Cream Songwriter Showcase.
