Esther Haynes Keith Grimes Dean Dalton
Esther, Keith & Dean bring an easygoing night of acoustic swing, jazz, and American roots—perfect for listening without overpowering the room.
Guitarist Keith Grimes is a longtime fixture on the D.C. scene, known for his tasteful soloing and years as lead guitarist and co-musical director for the late Eva Cassidy. His playing can be heard on many of her celebrated recordings, and he’s also worked with Chuck Brown, The Nighthawks, Bill Kirchen, and more.
Esther Haynes adds rhythm guitar and vocals, drawing from early jazz and classic American roots traditions. A Berklee-trained musician (summa cum laude), Esther is a 12-time Wammie winner for jazz and swing vocals. Her recordings—including Moon Country—have earned both awards and critical praise.
Holding it all down is bassist Dean Dalton, whose deep, soulful groove comes from years performing with top regional blues and jazz artists including Anthony “Swamp Dog” Clark, Bad Influence, and Built 4 Comfort, among many others.
Together, this trio delivers a warm, intimate set full of swing, feel, and musical chemistry.
