The Gould Standard brings a warm, thoughtful blend of indie folk to the Dietle’s stage, built on strong songwriting, rich harmonies, and textured instrumentation.

Rob Gould has been crafting songs for over two decades, developing a catalog that’s both personal and resonant. His work includes two full-length albums and multiple singles, with a new album’s worth of material on deck. His 2023 song Army of Devils earned the Grand Prize for Best Song of the Year in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest, and his album Because of You was a WAMMIE finalist. Several of his songs have also received recognition in regional songwriting competitions.

Backed by Ken Glasser and George Thayer—whose vocal harmonies and instrumental depth bring new life to the material—the trio creates a sound that’s intimate, expressive, and engaging. Expect a mix of original songs and carefully chosen covers that fit seamlessly into their indie folk aesthetic.
