Charlie Owen & Pocket Change bring a deep well of soul, swing, and classic R&B to the stage, led by a vocalist whose career spans from Washington, D.C. to the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

A Birmingham, Alabama native raised in D.C., Charlie Owen got his start on trumpet before stepping into the spotlight as a frontman. In his early years, he held down the house band slot at the Stardust Lounge in Waldorf, MD—sharing bills with legends like The Everly Brothers, Barbara Mandrell, Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge, and The Classics Four.

After relocating to the Bay Area in 1981, Charlie fronted the powerhouse R&B group The Dynatones, touring nationally and opening for icons including James Brown, Etta James, Roomful of Blues, Bonnie Bramlett, and The Drifters.

Now based in Annapolis, Charlie continues to deliver smooth, soulful performances backed by top-tier players. His album Worth The Wait showcases his refined vocal style alongside standout West Coast musicians, capturing the timeless feel that defines his sound.
